Art Director / Photographer
A Bit About Me
Thanks for stopping in and viewing my portfolio. I have been working in the advertising and marketing sector for over 27 years. I have had the opportunity to do some very cool things in my career. I am currently an Art Director at a great company. I wear many hats including art direction, graphic design, photographer, and web designer, just to name a few.
With a traditional learning of photography using film and making prints in a dark room, I understand the art of photography. Now in the age of digital photography, I specialize in flash/strobe photography. So even on those sunny days I am using a strobe kit of some sort. I also enjoy collaborating with other people and friends, so if you need a photographer maybe it is something that we can help each other out with. I am always looking for fun, creative ideas to explore.

American Orthodontics / Senior Art Director, Photographer
In my current position at American Orthodontics, I am responsible for creative of all printed and digital media including the American Orthodontics web site. I manage AO's online merchandise storefronts and digital assets (DAM). I am also the company's on-staff photographer.
Jacobson Rost / Interactive Designer and Art Director
My role at JR was a member of the Interactive Department working as a web designer. During this time the majority of our clients had FLASH based websites. My primary clients included Sargento Cheese, BOSS Snowplows, Leinenkugel's, Henry Weinhard's, MillerCoors, Culver's, Old Wisconsin, Carl Buddig, Mercury Marine, Fisher Nuts, Patrick Cudahy, Piggly Wiggly, and numerous other accounts. I maintained these corporate web sites, online media, and monthly eNewsletters.
GreySunderPrescher / Creative Director
During my time at GSP I was hired as a graphic designer. I later stepped up to take on the role as the agency's web designer. After a couple of years I was promoted to Creative Director. My primary clients were GE Medical, Brady Corp., Cutler-Hammer, SC Johnson, and Jillian's Entertainment. It was with GSP that I was recognized for my creative work with my first major award.
SMP Advertising - Roundy's Corp. / Graphic Designer
While only at SMP for a short time, I gained most of my production skills while working here. As a graphic designer, my role was to layout and design weekly grocery store ads, flyers, and circulars. My primary stores were privately-owned stores in Wisconsin and Ohio and also Pick 'n Save stores in Milwaukee and Northern Wisconsin.
United Parcel Service UPS / 3rd Shift Supervisor
I started with UPS as an unloader and soon became a package sorter. Within 18 month I was promoted to the management team and was tasked with running a sort isle. From there I was moved to running an inbound unload. I was the first supervisor on my shift to run both an unload and sort isle at the same time. My success there lead me to then be moved and run an outboad package loading area. After a very short time I exceeded expectations and continuously had higher than average numbers. I was a very successful leader and had several of my employees get promoted to the management team. Several have continued their careers with UPS and are now members of the executive team.
Cargo Air, Inc. / Airline Runway Crew Member
Working at Cargo Air may have been one of my most fun jobs. I worked on the runway at Mitchell International Airport unloading and loading cargo aircraft. I taxied airplanes and operated a K-Loader to unload shipping containers from the airplanes.
Hanson Dodge Creative / Office Assistant / Intern
Working at Hanson Dodge was my first experience working in the advertising industry in which I would later make a career of. I was originally hired for an internship in college and later turned into a paid position. I was exposed to many aspects of the agency but my role was primarily an office grunt. I assembled portfolio mock-ups, key-lining, and any other odd jobs. Not much more to say about that. It was fun while I was young.
My Education
Aug 1992 - May 1997
Cardinal Stritch College / Milwaukee, WI
I graduated from Cardinal Stritch with a Bachelor of Fine Arts – emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Photography. I was a Layton Art Scholar, which at the time, was awarded to two incoming students per year. During my junior year I was a Role-Model Resident in the campus dorms. I also met my wife Christy at Stritch and proposed to her in my dorm on 2C.
